DIABOLO GENESIS
DIABOLO GENESIS ist eine Installation und eine Textarbeit in einem. Während die Installation ein provokantes, illustratives Statement zum zeitgenössischen Kunstkonsum darstellt, erweitert die Textarbeit die Perspektive auf eine Reflexion soziokultureller Werte, die in gesellschaftspolitischen Defiziten gipfelt.
Die Künstlerin hat in aufwändiger Handarbeit 33 (13 für die kleinere Version) phantasierte Figuren von ca. 8 - 20 cm Höhe aus massivem Glas gefertigt, die in einer altarähnlichen Präsentation angeordnet sind. Der zweite Hauptbestandteil des Werkes ist eine fiktive Waffe (ein Luftgewehr bei der kleineren Version), die das ganze Arrangement in eine Schießstandkulisse verwandelt und den Gedanken verstärkt, tatsächlich auf die kleinen Skulpturen zu schießen.
Die dazugehörigen Briefe an einen lieben Freund geben intime Einblicke in die umfassende konzeptionelle Weltanschauung des Künstlers. Obwohl zweifelnd, fast verzweifelt, spiegeln sie immer noch einen hoffnungsvollen, optimistischen Enthusiasmus für den künstlerischen Ausdruck wider und haben eine nicht zu leugnende Relevanz für unsere Kultur.

WHAT WOULDN’T YOU DO?
DIABOLO GENESIS is an installation and a textual work combined. While the installation is a provocative illustrative statement on contemporary art consumption practices the textual work expands the prospect towards a reflection of socio-cultural values culminating in socio-political deficiencies.
The artist elaborately crafted 33 (13 for the smaller version) fantasised figurines of approximately 8 - 20 cm height in solid glass that are arranged in an altar-like presentation. Besides the second main component of the work is a fictional weapon (a air rifle at the smaller version) which changes the whole arragement into a shooting range setting enforcing the notion of actually shooting at the tiny sculptures.
The corresponding letters addressed to a dear friend express intimate insights into the artists encompassing conceptual worldview. Though doubting, almost desperate they still reflect a hopeful optimistic enthusiasm for artistic expression and dicisively maintain an undenieable relevance for our culture.
